Known to most singaporean and malaysian, Genting is the place to be for cool weather and place to gamble. First world hotel is the cheapest hotel in genting highland itself. The lowest price during low season (non-school holiday and mondays to thursdays) sometimes you can get a room for USD 15 to 20 per night (peak season price can go up to USD 60 to 80). But don't expect luxury living, barely enough walking space, accommodate 2 and the toilet virtually has no privacy, although the toilet bowl and showering area is separated, you have to walk naked between them, where the washing basin is.
Good location if you are going genting for the entertainment and shopping, nearest to the cable car disembarking area, cinema, food area.
The indoor fun park is opened for children between 5 to 18, so a good place to be during off peak period. The jam up the hill to genting during chinese new year and holiday season is pretty bad, even if you are planning to take cable car.
Do visit the temple half way up the hill, even if just to see the turtle and enjoy the quiet tranquility.
