I was treated like feces by this company.I was sent to this location by an online loan company. I spoke with Terry Burch over the phone and my name is Dawn Morris sounds really Caucasian. Over the phone really nice and sweet. I explained several times over the phone I would not be able to put anything down due my car being totaled I was waiting on the pay off from Gap we had a clear understanding. He says sure come in I can take care of you. I come in and he sees this brown face and everything started to change. Terry Burch gave me this look like oh this is a black girl. I didn t want this to be just a thought or just a feeling so I keep it in the back of my mind. I get a call the next day saying how he wouldn t be able to finance me I would need a co-signer. I come in the next day with a co-signer. I come in paper work already ready for us sent us to a young lady by name of Stormy, because he had to go cut his grass before the sun went down . Not to much of a priority huh. I knew then it was my color that didn t make me a priority my color did not even have the priority to be told the terms and condition of my loan . Stormy ask did you say you were putting 500 dollars and told Stormy like I told Terry the previous day no I did not agree to that! The loan terms I assumed would be adjusted because I stated several times on a recorded line and verbally to him I did not have the down payment. I was called a month later by Stormy and she asked if I had the 500 dollars I told her no because I did not agree to that. I called Terry Burch the following evening and I was hollered at told that legal proceedings would begin. I told him that I told him I could not put that amount down and when I left I told Stormy the same thing ! They money was not collected when I left the building because those were not terms that were agreed upon. I am basically being forced to put down 500 because it s on paper. Watch and read make sure your loan is well read to you. I was also told that my second key would be kept as well do you keep the key to your Caucasian customers cars. I have been approved for a auto loan through Regional acceptance why would you keep any of my property. I knew then my color played a factor. I called today because I haven t had the car three months I have 16 warnings and and oil change at 7 percent . I called Terry Burch to see what my next course of action would be I told him the sticker in the window stated that I would be due to be serviced on 9-19 he asked how many miles were on my car I told him 35,000. I was told I went over 7000 miles in less than 3 months that s correct and he was going to give me anything for free! I asked to speak to someone else because he was being rude and unprofessional I was told no ! I told him that he was being unprofessional and did he have a boss he continued to holler at me I knew this was definitely due to the color of my skin. I called back asked to speak with his boss he really was not to apologetic about the way his staff had treated me. He also went on to say I m not doing anything for you but an oil change! Do they talk to their Caucasian customers with such disrespect ! Brand new car and I am terrified to do any of my future servicing there due to the color of my skin I feel like will be treated unfairly by bigots! Racism is real and it is thriving at Wood River Chevrolet! I was not aware! IF YOU ARE BLACK DO NOT GO TO RUAL WOOD RIVER THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE FECES UOU DO NOT MATTER IF YOUR BLACK IF YOUR BLACK THEY THINK YOU WANT SOMETHING FOR FREE.DONT LEARN THE HARD WAY!
