Kimberly von See Review of DFW Rental and Leasing dba Dol...

If I could give this business zero stars, I would.
I rented from Dollar in April 2017 from the DFW location. I had the vehicle for four days. Upon returning it, the employee pointed to the roof and mumbled something about hail damage. Not only was there no noticeable damage on the vehicle, but it hadn't rained (much less hailed) the entire time I had the car. In fact, the vehicle was in a garage when I picked it up so even if there was damage, it would have been caused well before I was even in the state. (Conveniently, the garage was dark and I wouldn't have noticed the damage when I picked up the car even if I had wanted to. The staff also didn't perform an inspection of the vehicle before I rented it, so it's probably buried in the paperwork that you have to do an inspection yourself before leaving the garage.) They encouraged me to submit a damage report along with my insurance information, so I did.
My insurance denied the claim. The insurance agent said it may end up being dropped by Dollar, but lo and behold, a collection agency called me a couple weeks later saying I owed $1650(!!!!!) for the damage. I stated only that I intended to dispute the claim, and they didn't contact me for another couple months. They did eventually call back and the only reason the charges were dropped was that Dollar didn't submit photos of the damage until 500 miles after I returned the vehicle, which means they most likely tried to scam another customer(s).
In short, Dollar tried to make me pay $1650 for "damage" that I couldn't possibly have been responsible for. I will obviously never rent again from them or any business associated from them.
