I'm inclined to think that the corruption is more in the healthcare industry than in the insurance business. I'm not going to get started on my tirade about healthcare in this country here in this comment box--I'll just say that the insurance is insurance, about what you'll get anywhere, but virtually essential here in Utah, because they're the only ones who cover the IHC resources. Anyway, I am inclined to like them because it's always very easy to talk to a pleasant human over the phone and resolve my concerns. The complaints in the comments here mostly seem to be made by people mad over policy changes or specifics that they didn't read up on beforehand--they're willing to help you understand stuff beforehand, it's after the bill has already been sent that they can't really help you too much anymore, because regardless of what's in the contract--you signed it and it became your responsibility.

Anyway, I've avoided getting any kind of healthcare like the plague (how ironic) because I just can't afford it--my deductible is too high for it to be useful. Period. I pay the premium to follow the law, but I avoid using it at all costs. I don't think this is exactly what Obama had in mind . . . but whatever.
