Okay, I ordered a complete, $205 dozen'longstem'roses+chocolate+personalized'card+teddy'bear kit, ON VALENTINE'S DAY, to be delivered to my wife at work.
Well, after I ordered from FTD, I Googled them and oooh boy did I regret the purchase. Nevertheless, I held strong with optimism.
And, then I realized that I had given them the WRONG ADDRESS; my fault. I immediately contacted customer support. Just like the reviews said, the first gentleman was very hard to hear, and understand. The customer service center is very obviously outsourced (as are most CS phone centers for most US corporations). The rep knew I was having trouble both hearing and understanding him, so he said he would transfer me to someone who was much more qualified to help me. I was transferred to a lady (did not catch her name) who I could hear, and understand so much better.
I explained the error on my part (this was a huge mistake on my part, because the order was accidentally being sent to another city entirely), and she completely understood and proceeded to place me on hold while she scrambled to find a fulfillment florist who could deliver my order, to my wife at her correct place of work.
Remember: This was ON VALENTINE'S DAY.
A few minutes later she came back, apologized profusely for leaving me on hold for so long (it was only 3 minutes, and I told her there was no need for such apologies). She found a florist, scheduled the delivery for the correct address; we both thanked each other and ended the call.
ONLY TWO HOURS LATER I get a message from my wife: A photo of her smiling, with EVERYTHING I had ordered in the background, and a caption which said "I love you! Thank you SO MUCH!"
UNBELIEVABLE!
I'm not sure about all these negative reviews, but I ordered on the worst possible day, screwed up the delivery address, contacted support, fixed the issue, and two hours later my wife had her entire gift delivered.
For me, the experience was BEYOND EXCELLENT! Perhaps I am the exception? I doubt it. I assume most just don't like the outsourced reps, and take it personally, which is just plain silly.
Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to use FTD again.
