The court gave me a booklet to chose an attorney who is willing to accept sliding fee. I chose Angela Starr under Queens County as my attorney. I am the petitioner the mother. On the third trial day, I got sick and I was late 1 hour to the court. I tried to call her office but no one picked up. My attorney didn't wait for me and didn't call me and she went into the court with the respondent's attorney. And my protection order case got dismissed...but the father's protection order case granted 6 months....After she came out from the court room, she was smiled to me and told me that it was over. she asked me to re-file it...but it needs $$ again....I already paid her $150 consultation + $2500 attorney fee...but she didn't stand for me...and I really feel like this attorney was helping the other side...

I thought the attorneys from the court were better...but I was wrong..She is really unexperienced! She speaks to me in a condescending manner...Very disappointed!
