Michelle L Review of W Paris Opéra
This hotel would have gotten more stars had it not...
This hotel would have gotten more stars had it not been for my boyfriend missing money on two separate occasions when we came back in. The first time was earlier in the day when he thought he may have been off with his spending but it s hard to say that when majority of his spending WAS ON HIS CREDIT CARD AND HE LEFT THE EUROS IN THE ROOM (inside of his backpack, inside of a zipper that was inside of another zippered compartment!) He felt at that moment someone may have taken some, but I tried calming him down and he sort of did, but he was really bothered. He counted his money before we left (excluding what was in his pocket), we came back in later on in the evening, laid around a bit, got dressed for the next outing and when he went to grab a few more bucks, he decided to count it again. THIS TIME $300 was missing! (By the way, this makes $600-700 that has now disappeared that we can t account for) My boyfriend is ambassador status and has spent soooo many nights at marriott properties and has NEVER had to worry about anyone taking from him. All I could think about was the maid who knocked on our door (WITH OUR NOT NOW SIGN DISPLAYED) asking if we needed anything. (On more than 1 occasion). At first I thought the hotel goes above and beyond to make sure you re good, but I also questioned why they d disturb us when the sign on the outside of the door clearly says not now . Long story short, it took the staff a while to get back. My boyfriend had to keep going downstairs to ask the status and they claim they ve spoken to everyone they seen coming in and out of the room on tape but that no one had declared any money (like someone who steals would just admit that they did and say, yes I took money! ). They told us we need to file a police report only for that to turn into some more bs. First they said it would take 30 minutes and then it went to 3 hours. It s just crazy to me that we are the ones who have to be inconvenienced and go out of our way in an ATTEMPT to get our money back, when it was someone at the hotel who clearly stole from us. Now I m forced to turn down service because I don t trust that anything else wouldn t come up missing. It s crazy that All of a sudden, no one is knocking on our door asking if we need anything now. No phone calls to make sure we re turning down service (like they did yesterday) or anything. There s been not a peep from them all day! Maybe because we ve been in the room and haven t left. (Which means we still have our money) I hope when they checked the cameras they paid attn to whether or not the not now sign was up prior to entry (just in case they came while we were gone and had our sign posted because anyone entering with that sign up is clearly the culprit!) . My advice, (and please believe I will be taking my own from now on) USE THE SAFE! Though we never had to before, we will be doing so going forward. We do appreciate some of the staff members that were empathetic but we re very much so still skeptical of other staff members.
