This is amazing and so full of history. The statue cruise boats begins at Battery Park in Manhattan or Liberty Park in Jersey City. You have to select this ahead of time when you purchase your tickets. First stop is Ellis Island and definitely recommend taking the 30-minute tour. The NPS Rangers are full of interesting information.
The only reason I rated 4 was because the lack of ADA assistance and compliance. Once you get to Ellis or Liberty Islands there are ADA compliant ramps and entry ways. Although, nothing for getting on and off the boats. There is also no assistance for those with disabilities.
ADA compliance at the Statue of Liberty is good up to the pedestal. (Just not getting in or out of thur boat) They also have a limited number of wheel chairs available at the information center. The staff was very courteous and helpful with helping us bring our Uncle to the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. Would be nice to see more ADA improvements at the boat, waiting in the line and assistance with loading.
