Disheartened to agree with other posts stating that "If you have children go somewhere else". I have adopted Alaskan Malamutes from TAMR (Texas Alaskan Malamute Rescue) as well as other rescues throughout our military career and I do understand the fears/legal concerns agencies have with adult dogs and children. But other agencies test young dogs (under 2) with children in the hopes of finding them a forever home since many families with children are hoping for a younger dog. Florida Lab Rescue does not test their dogs with children. We hoped to meet/adopt a 12 mth dog named Fred from this agency (who is listed as young not adult) we wanted to train him (have services in place already) to become an autism assistance therapy dog for our son, only to be denied because Pat Bayers says he is an adult and they will not place dogs with children period. They at this time have a puppy named Cam and Pat did not even offer him as an alternative. This goes to reinforce the many other comments on multiple search engines that "if you have kids, do not apply here". So disappointment.
