We stayed at the River Island complex for direct access to the large pools and kid friendly areas. The facilities were awesome. Really clean, safe, and well done.
Our room needed to be cleaned more thoroughly than it was, we felt. We found a total of three glass shards during our five day vacation one in my foot. This was scary since we have a child under two. Next, be aware of your room's location to the front door in building 82000. This has a penthouse that is part of the sales tour in it. All morning long into early afternoon we heard the shrill of reversing golf carts (tour transport) all. The. Time.
Customer service on the property constantly underwhelmed. Actually, it was probably on par with what you would expect at a hotel, but at a large resort competing for business in MCO, I expected a little more effort.
The sales pitch: we had an awesome time here and have very few and minor complaints, but if you come here, do not take the vouchers upon check in. DO NOT. They offered $20 (or $100 for priority club members) to sit thru a campus "tour" to see all of the wonderful things you can do here. We thought it was a good idea since we've never been here. They schedule your appointment (which you must do at check in) and put a $30 deposit on your cc to hold it! It was not a tour, but a sales presentation that sucked over 3 HOURS of our vacation day away from us.
Come enjoy the property, but do not take the "tour".
