I was actually looking forward to my stay at the Renaissance Hotel, but by the time my two nights was over, I was more than ready to check out. From the beginning, the staff was unfriendly, the beds were not what I am use to when staying at a Marriott, and there was very little to offer for food or beverages outside of the expensive restaurant. But that was the least of my problems with my stay. I was given a corner room with an adjoining door to, what sounded like, the bathroom of the room next door. I heard the multiple trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night and the shower being used at 3:00am. I maybe slept 4 hours during my two night stay. When I kindly complained to the front desk, they only offered additional reward points. On top of zero sleep and an inhospitable staff, the hotel charged me a random extra $173.00. When I called to inquire about this extra charge I was told that the hotel will charge a hold of $25.00 and up per day that should be refunded within 5-7 business days. I stayed 2 nights- they charged my card an extra 80.00+ per night. Although it will be refunded, I don't recall authorizing additional charges and I don't understand how they determined $173.00 is acceptable? I would not stay at this hotel again.
