LRRoF is a group of hardworking volunteers, no one is paid and all do rescue work on the side. I ve been involved with a few groups and this statewide organization is actually run the way rescues should run. People get frustrated because we live in an instant gratification world but folks will never understand unless they are knee deep in saving the lives, dealing with daily heartbreaks, fostering, looking for fosters, raising money, dealing with owner surrenders and their issues, and on top of all that and more - trying to get back to those interested in helping and adopting (multiple inquiries from email, phone calls, social media) in a timeline that satisfies them. So yes patience is important because the group truly does their best for each lab saved and gets him/her in adoptable health before going over applications and doing house visits and following up on references (yes the volunteers do that too). They count on the community for help but are let down many times themselves. So anything negative that happens, there is a reason. Volunteers have bad days and constantly frustrated themselves at the daily happenings that the public doesn t see or have to deal with...kudos to Lab Rescue for making a difference. Charlie Brown, my chocolate lab, appreciates you too.
