In spite of some consistently and shockingly long waits for elevators [guests bonding over this universal experience at this particular hotel], I can give you a solid thumbs up for this Westin Grand. Our family of four enjoyed the room, really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and loved walking out the door and trekking down Robson street.

I popped out at 7 each morning and enjoyed a coffee from Starbucks, there are two of them... one on each corner of the street opposite the hotel on Robson. There is a liquor store in the exterior retail of the building with a satisfying selection of beer and wine, and an IGA for anything else you might need. We bought fresh berries there on the way back to the room one morning.

I will plead with you to consider walking the half block to Medina and enjoying a meal there. It is special. We've dined there twice acrooss two visits in a years time and were essentially thrilled with the experience.

Staff at Westin Grand were very helpful, and warm and friendly without exception. Facilities felt clean, but I do note that the pool ran completely out of towels both evenings we visited, so we had to hunt and peck for hand towels. Also, piles of used towels overflowed the towel bins on the pool deck. Not a good look. Guests deserve fresh clean towels for the prices paid to stay here.

To my surprise and delight, I was able to park our Honda Pilot SUV + 4 bike platform style rack in the parking garage.

Check out was a breeze, and I left feeling great about our experience and the value for the money we spent.
