Fionn McGinley Review of the gibson hotel

We booked the Gibson purely for its location as we were booked to see Cirque du Soliel in the 3 Arena, upon arrival we parked in the Euro Parks car park as it was busy we were way down in -3... not an issue.
There was a bit of a queue for check in but the staff were friendly. While checking in our parking was charged at the special rate until 12pm the next day. We were offered Breakfast at the rate of 13 euro each if paid for then or 16 euro if we chose to do so the next day.. we opted to pay the reduced rate.
The room we got was 405, it appeared it is normally used for people who are in a wheelchair or reduced mobility as it had the accessible toilet etc... this wasnt an issue for us though.
The room was modern and clean though there was a black smudge on the net curtain in a small spot.. i'm just being picky though.
There was free water in the room too which was great and an empty fridge. Decent tea and coffee options which we didnt use and an ironing board and iron also present again not used as it was a one night stay.
The sleep was grand the bed comfy and extra pillows etc.. shame about not having a small window to open though as we love fresh air instead of awful aircon.
The breakfast was NOT worth 13 euro... I was expecting some form of table service but it was not to be had it was a buffet plain and simple, the food wasnt anything special either the sausages were cheap and appeared to have been deep fried (yuck). We had to chase down a member of staff to get tea and coffee brought to the table which was quite frustrating! I would HIGHLY recommend SKIPPING breakfast and going somewhere else.
Checkout was painless and quick and we were soon on the way.
Basically the Gibson is in a fantastic location for those who are going to something in the 3 Arena but it is pricey for this privilege.
Would have to really consider before id pay full price again for it.
