My husband has been to the ER twice for abdominal issues in the last 9 months. The second time he was in the hospital ICU for more than 30 days. He was very sick. I want to give the ICU staff, social workers, nurses, surgeons Dr. Kalauni and Dr. Kirkpatrick and so many others 5 stars. I was there every day and they have long hours and a lot to do but I felt comfortable and encouraged to be present and ask questions. Unfortunately, this is the only hospital for a lot of people and the ER is going through major renovation, difficult for all. I feel that some of the recovery areas outside of ICU need better patient to nurse ratio. I hope the hospital continues to look for improvement and good staff as we need a good hospital in Visalia. I have read other reviews and the issues are real but my husband is alive today because of the caring employees we had experience with.
