We had dinner have with friends (who stay at the Residence Club every year for the past 10 years). The hostess last night was taking everyone s temperature with an infrared thermometer on guests wrists instead of the usual temple or forehead. All of our temperatures read 92.7- 94 degrees which is considered a state of mild hypothermia. When I mentioned we had doctors in our group, and it is suggested she take them on the forehead or temple, she took offense and was RUDE thereafter.
I don t know who gave her permission or training, but I m sure it wasn t the CDC or a group of practicing medical doctors who told her to take guest s temperature inaccurately. My friend asked to take her temp on her forehead and it then read, 97 degrees which made more sense versus at her wrist which read, 93 degrees.
I hope the entire working staff and chef and cooking team are being screened more carefully than us guests! It would be dangerous if everyone thought their temperature was low or normal when they really had a temperature 4-7 degrees higher than what that lady was viewing. It made us all feel unsafe and uncomfortable. This hostess in front should be more gracious and open minded especially with information from guests and health care professionals in the future when we are all in this together and trying to promote safety.
Disappointing, Four Seasons!
