I am a tour manager for a band that travels a ton and see a lot of hotels. The Hampton Inn Columbia Northeast-Fort Jackson Area was very clean and the staff was especially friendly. We're usually staying as a big group and checking in fairly late. I always like to call ahead to make sure that a late check-in will be okay and the front desk was more than accommodating.

We travel in a large 15-passenger van so ample parking in a safe, well-lit lot is especially important to us. We didn't have a problem finding a spot close to the hotel in a section of the parking lot that was very well-lit and put our minds at ease.

The rooms themselves were spotless and had an appropriate amount of towels and toiletries to service both of our rooms. There was plenty of space for all of our luggage and an ample amount of outlets to make sure we could recharge our electronics for the long haul that we had the next day. The beds themselves were like sleeping on clouds. It was by far one of the best nights of sleep I have gotten in a long time on the road.

As you can imagine, our crew is quite accustomed to being let down by the mediocrity of self-proclaimed 'continental breakfasts' across the country. However, I was blown away by the selection and freshness here when we woke up the next morning. Various smoothies, pastries, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, you name it...they had everything, including a coffee bar near the front desk that they kept stocked all day. So, thankful for that. Plus, they served fairly late into the morning, so even the people in our group who slept in a little bit were able to get some breakfast before we hit the road again.

I will definitely be bookmarking this location for future travel.
