Aack!! The Lines!!!
We arrived 20 minutes after the 9am opening and the lines were hundreds of people long. This was for ticket holders, not buyers. The beginning of the line was impossible to find, and very unorganized. The few signs were vague, and there was nobody to answer questions like at the Louvre, which was just as crowded but better staffed. We went instead to the gardens, which required a separate 8 euro ticket. They were spectacular, and we didn't mind missing the chateau.
If you do join the queue, bring sunscreen, a hat and and umbrella. The courtyard is immense and the sun is merciless!
Bon Chance! Whatever you see of this spectacular palace, you will be amazed!
