Had really looked forward to celebrating my birthday with good friends as have been wanting to visit Proud for a long time so was extremely disappointed to have had such a poor and overpriced experience.
There is a fine line between classy, artistic and tacky and this defintiely crossed that line. Appeared to be completely targeted at the Hen market and the acts were not of the high quality I expected, especially the 'comical' Dave who appeared to have very little talent and was very end of the Pier - he was obviously just for the Hens.
The venue is cosy and could be great however we were placed on what appeared to be the worse table in the house and watched the whole show from the side of the stage. There was no effort by the performers to ensure that we were also entertained and we also spent a lot of time looking at the back of the compares head as she spoke / sung to the rest of the room.
This is not a cheap night out (we had enquired prior to booking about using Groupon voucher but was told they were fully booked but when we proceeded to book without voucher there was suddenly plenty of space!). Drinks are expensive and the food is pretty average. We had planned to stay until 1am but post show the dance floor (from which only two tables were cleared) rapidly turned into a Hen only event. We decided to Uber into Brighton and redirect our cab pick up. The hour and half we spent in Brighton was far better than the whole Proud evening and we could actually but a decent beer.
Postitives - the watiress was nice and attentive
If you want an expensive Hen night then this is a place for you but if you want to be entertained and watch Burlesque give it a wide berth.
