**BEWARE AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE** 1 Star is being generous!!!

I took my car, M135i, to BMW Ash Vale in August 2018 as the exhaust was rattling on startup. when met by the service advisor I was told that this is a common problem and they've had a lot of these models and the 140i's back in because of this.

this alone prompted me to do my own research, I found it was a very common problem and that BMW only replace with a like for like part which causes the problem to occur again and again. from research I have done and owners I have spoken to I was made aware the only actual fix was for the m performance exhaust to be fitted. something I wasn't that keen on, however, I wanted the car fixed.

after a few months of back and forth the BMW saying they "cannot find the fault" they suddenly found and could diagnose the fault, although surprise surprise this was days after the original manufacturer warranty expired.



Fast forward to Feb 2019 and the noise is back, I swiftly get the car back to BMW and they diagnose the problem, although this time something different to before. How can so many separate issues be the cause of the exact same problem? They say the "fix" the problem and I am off on my way a week or so later.

However come April 2019 the problem is back again, the exact same sound. I get it back into BMW and they manage to find the fault. although this time the service is completely different from the outset, they don't really want to help. They say they found the fault, again another different cause, and have fixed.

however, they are now saying that they will no longer conduct any work on the car unless I am paying!

surprise surprise the noise is still there and has been since I picked the car up, clearly, no work was done on the car to fix it!

I am left with a car that rattles, which is not meant to from the factory!

I am directed to customer service, on 16th July I raise a formal complaint with Mike and he advises me he will call back in 2-3 days. come 30th no call, I call yesterday to be told he will call me back. surprise surprise no call back! I call today to be told he is out of the office and he will call me tomorrow.

the service from BMW has been less than appalling. As far as I am concerned this fault dates back pre warranty expiring and should be fixed. however, BMW are not interested in fixing their faulty product, more interested in trying to sell their new cars.

I would urge everyone to be wary of BMW and their service. We pay huge amounts for what you would expect to be a very well put together vehicle yet is is fault and the service provided is awful!
