According to the signs the route is closed but it was open. On the Northern side there is some gravel tipped to "close" the road however it is only across half the road and I was able to pass easily.
The road is narrow in places and two-way traffic would be difficult in some places however there is very little traffic.
We only passed one other vehicle en-route
Worth driving at least once.
