I spent a LONG time filling out the application as thoughtfully as possibly. It kept throwing me out so I had to start over again several times, however I appreciated the thoroughness of the application; it indicated they are truly vetting the potential adopters. Not only do we only rescue vs. using a breeder, but we have successfully educated a lot of friends and family on pet adoption. We rescued our last pup as a full grown dog from a rescue listed on Petfinder; she was with us for 11 years and had the best life. We provided her with any and all care possible to give her the best quality of life regardless of time involved, cost, etc. Ready to bring a new lab into our lives, we applied to this rescue. Someone is always home in our household. We have a large, fully fenced yard, have a membership to the dog park, and so much love to give to a new furry family member. We paid the donation fee, successfully submitted the application ....and.......... radio silence. We received an email indicating someone would reach out within 7 business days. That has not happened. The dog we were hoping for is gone. With no word regarding our "voluntary donation", we have brought a new rescue dog into our lives. from another shelter. So disappointed that after the lengthy application and the hard-earned money gone, no one even saw fit to communicate. This may be a "great" rescue based on some other reviews but there is nothing ok about taking people's money.
