ANN tells family members on the initial meeting, that your loved one can be treated for anything that comes up. Doctors, medication, treatment. I knew that it sounded to good to be true. I did not want hospice, but lamented when Ann seemed to promise that he would be treated. He was gone within 13 days of starting with them. I should have known when the first nurse came, and wouldn't help us with the reading of a blood check for his diabetes machine. When his urine turned orange, and we asked for an antibiotic, they said "that's the body's way of shutting down". that's a stock answer for anything that happens. Such a lie. All of our body's would shut down if not treated. When I said that his throat was very sore, DANA said "if it's something that can be treated with tea and honey! I always knew that hospice has it's place with terminally ill patients. My father was not terminal. Remember, that these hospice companies are business's and they are in the practice of making money, just like all business's. I know that my dad could not stay forever. He was sick, but 13 days?? The part which was the very most painful, was being told one thing regarding treatment, but just the opposite was the truth. As his time was near, there were kind people who came, but I will NEVER go with a hospice company again. Certainly not this one. There are many, so do your homework, and don't believe anything other than their stock philosophy, which is END of life comfort. They somehow can say anyone has 6 months or less to live, even without a terminal diagnosis. Don't we all want to do business with a honest truthful company? This one clearly was not. Outrageous.
