Tyler S Review of Hotel Derek Destination Hotels...

The room was great, the front desk was absolutely FANTASTIC (shoutout to Rashmeen who was by and far one of the single best people I've had the pleasure of dealing with in terms of customer service - she is the absolute definition of professional and accommodating.) However I cannot leave the review I wish I could. The reason for this is due to the billing. They charged for the stay, and for the incidentals (which alone were more per day than the room was) which was understood. Then a few days into my stay I'm charged additional money randomly. A small charge here, and then later an additional $200. Upon seeing this I called the hotel as I was out. The person I spoke with said they can't see the charge or tell me why it was there, but accounting (which was unavailable for some reason) might be able to. Either way, I was put out of over $200 additional that wouldn't clear from my card for another "5-10 business days". That alone is enough to turn me off from using the hotel again in the future. When I budget for a vacation I make sure I plan the hotel expenses meticulously. When they charge me an extra $200 and can't even tell me why, it means I may have to cancel a dinner I was looking forward to as I now don't have the $200 I was going to drop there. I'm also hesitant to spend anymore money on my vacation as I'm worried that more will randomly be taken without a reason made clear. Not something I want to worry about on what's meant to be a relaxing vacation.
EDIT: So after a lot of trouble getting in touch with their Accounting department, it turns out I was charged for another customers room and expenses. The woman from accounting was absolutely excellent in helping me deal with this, and I have a lot of praise for her. I do wish however that it wouldn't have happened in the first place, and that the other people I spoke to would have been more receptive instead of telling me that they don't see any charges and that if there are any they'll fall off within however many business days. When I checked out I tried to show the additional charges on my card to the gentleman checking me out, a man named Daniel, and all he really had to say was he didn't see anything on their end and the charges will fall off. He seemed more interested in moving on to the next person than figuring out what the charge could have been possibly.
