The Teacher Training at GLS was the perfect introduction to my work as a DAF teacher. As a newcomers to a completely unknown profession I was offered either long distance learning courses without or with only a few hours of attendance or in times of lack of teachers the leap into the cold water and without any experience simply teaching. Neither one nor the other I wanted to "afford" me. Although you have to afford the Teacher Training, the money is well invested in my opinion. The scheduled four weeks you can still cope with no income, longer would be difficult to handle. Since the time is so tight, and the program in the compact four weeks is also pulled through quite tightly, you should set aside everything else as possible and hang properly. At times you can also come to its limit, but you will be well prepared for everyday life in a language school and especially the way of working as a teacher (organization, methodology, didactics). The concept of theoretical input and subsequent teaching practice in the change, in real students and with constant review and feedback of the learned and applied I find very meaningful, intense and insightful. You learn a lot in a very short time. Unfortunately, there is little time for reflection. This can then be done in the "normal" teaching practice. For me, the effort was worth it in any case and I could take a lot for my new job and apply it in the episode. Things that I had not expected before and would not have learned without instructions.
