Toyota is never very quick to admit any wrong doing, to begin with, which I learned from my experience when dealing with them about issues well known to other Toyota owners.
So it came as a unexpected relief, when they gave in under mounting pressure of complains, and issued a recall. I got a letter.
Within next couple of months, after multiple attempts to get our car fixed with the nearest dealership, Northridge Toyota, they finally gave me an appointment. They took down all necessary information, and i took a day off from work.
The day before i even got a confirmation/reminder call from them about upcoming appointment.
The next day, I am on my way, and someone from the service department calls me and tells me they will not fix my car, because it passed the deadline...
I don't even know who is the bigger villain here, but frankly, it doesn't matter, because i had enough already, incompetence on top of incompetence.
Good job, Toyota. Make defective cars, deny until it's not possible any more, then agree to fix it, but pull tricks on us with heavy on hearing service centers and deadlines.
I guess, if a defective Toyota stays long "enough", you won't be responsible any more?
