We like to go to the shear water lake near by regularly as the scenery is world class and the lake is kept up well as part of the Longleat estate (I guess).

On this occasion I took my drone and captured some awesome 4k video from the sky.

The pictures included are frames taken from that video from above the center of the lake, you can't really see it but all around the lake there is a footpath which allows you to walk around the entire lake.

The walk should take about an hour at a leisurely pace and the local cafe is stocked with meals and ice cream for you to reward yourself on your return.

Parking is free and usually there's enough for all but in the peak of the summer season it can get busy.

Great for families wanting to go on bike rides too as there's a road that goes around the lake right by the lake side for the majority that then leads on to paths that go in to the forest.

Horse riding and sailing also seem to be on offer too.

Bring your dog but it's probably best not to let them in the lake as blue-green algae are seasonally present which is not good for your furry friend.
