If your goal is to adopt an animal to give it a loving home, you may be very disappointed with the staff here.

My son and I went to interview cats. He found a lovely cat, but it was late in the day, so I agreed to come back the next day. There was a lot of traffic. I telephoned to ask if I could begin the application process by phone. I was told "no, we need to enter your information into a computer." I explained that I was hoping she could take my information over the phone while I was stuck in traffic so that we could complete the application. I was told "no, we can only see you in person." I phoned back, explaining I was still stuck in traffic and expecting to arrive at 4:40 and was told "we need 30 minutes so we can't process your application if you arrive after 4:30 pm." I asked if the staff could stay late to process this application. I was told "no we close at 5:00 pm." I arrived at 4:42 and they would not accept my application.

I feel sorry for the animals at this shelter. Staff seems rigid and not interested or motivated to have animals placed in loving homes.

As a post script, we went to the Humane Rescue Alliance in DC and had a completely different experience.
