Our guests at our event loved the food (it was a wedding). I didn't even get to see the dessert, they went so fast!

We were, however a bit disappointed, as none of the food items were labelled according to their potential allergens (even though we were assured that they would be) so we didn't have much confidence in what we could tell our guests was safe for them to eat. Several of our guests have very serious allergies. I think there may also have been some miscommunication, because not all of the food was put out on the buffet tables. I was told that only one banquet-sized table would be needed, but we put out two in case, and there still wasn't enough room. We weren't informed that the food was sealed with tinfoil/plastic, and we had to search in the kitchen for serving utensils and sides/salads as dinner time started, and I had to unwrap a lot of the food while wearing my wedding dress.

Despite all this, the food was fantastic, and there was more than enough to go around. Many of my guests told me how much they enjoyed it, but I know several didn't eat any, for fear of putting themselves at risk for an allergic reaction.

I think it's important to have organizations like Potluck Catering that give back to the community, which was one of my primary incentives for hiring them. Unfortunately, unless they improve their communication and service, I would not recommend doing what I did by having them serve at an event as important as a wedding.
