A dog was euthenized without giving it a chance of a future. The dog was there for 5 days. I called, called, called again... And again. Left a message, sent emails, and contacted via Facebook. I even had family members calling for me too to see if they could get anyone on the line but nothing. The responses received were generic (probably a simple copy and paste response). I needed more info.

After being unable to get real responses or anyone on the phone, I drove from hours away and spoke to multiple employees. Either people told me to speak to someone else or didn't know what to do... Finally one person pulled up her info and said the dog was undergoing behavior training and isn't ready for adoption. The dog had a date and time it needed to be adopted which I drove quickly from out of state arriving there before that time. I was reassured the dog would not be euthenized and was informed she was on premise but I was not permitted to see her.

After their failure to assist and reassurance the dog would not be euthenized, I left. A few minutes before their closing time I received a call while I was driving. The person spoke quickly and was difficult to understand. I heard something about it being too late because no one adopted her "in time" and the call dropped. I pulled over and called back but no one answered.

I am livid!!!! You gave this dog 5 days (maybe less given I wasn't able to see her in the time that was listed). YOU MURDERED a dog in that timeframe because of "behavior". I have worked with dogs for years and am unimpressed a decision was made so quickly. You say "Our mission is to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals in the Las Vegas valley" but you that is incorrect. To determine if a dog is treatable, you should have a better structure that gives a dog more than 5 days for a chance. If the dog was too advanced to deal with, stop having an open intake policy and coordinate with an organization who will provide the dog with extra time and focus. I came to save her but YOU failed her!
