Update- Dec 2018- This is one of my favorite institutions to photograph, the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a masterful piece of iron works that connects San Francisco to Sausalito in Marin County. Most of my photographs have been below the bridge. However, this time I found some great spots for evening shots of the bridge at rush hour.

There were old gun fortifications on both sides of the bridge to protect it. The remnants remain and provide very good views of the bridge from above day or night. Attached is two photographs taken this past week, one from each fortification. The third photo was taken from Treasure Island, which requires you cross the Oakland Bridge and deposit yourself on the island in the middle of the bay.
