I feel like we hear so much negative these days that I want to give credit where credit is due. I spent a couple of hours Saturday night at SGMC due to a medical issue (I suppose that s what everyone was there for) and didn t really receive any answers, but it wasn t for lack of trying on behalf of the staff. I was instructed to return to SGMC today for more tests. I spent the better part of my entire day today at that hospital having more tests run and more waiting... and quite possibly the best care I ve ever received in any medical facility- and I ve been in my share. Every person I encountered took time to get to know my particular case and show genuine interest in the anomaly that is my body. They listened to my concerns. They didn t cast aside my fears. They brought warm blankets and checked in on me and popped in and made small talk. Dr. Rich made phone calls to other Dr offices to make sure I was going to have appropriate tests run over the next couple of days and weeks. When he came into the room, he sat down on a chair next to the bed and talked to me like I was his friend or his sister- like he truly cared. I made a point to tell him how pleased I was with the care I had received to which he responded We try our best to take care of people and I think we get it right a lot of the time. I think a lot of people are happy with what we do. But the ones that aren t happy- those are the ones who tend to be the most vocal
So, today- it s the happy girl running her mouth.
