I had never used a chiropractor before. I was diagnosed with arthritis in the LS section of my spine and decided to finally try something to alleviate some pain. Initially, things went well, but I was wondering why the person that should have reviewed my insurance with me was being evasive. I found out that my insurance did not list this facility in any way at all. It appeared that they would take additional X-Rays, only to get me back for another followup visit. All procedures have been out of pocket. On my last last visit, I decided to have an adjustment done (again, OOP cost), which I never had before. It went great at first, with pressure applied to my back, then neck. But then so much pressure was applied to my back that a loud pop occurred and there was pain on the upper R-Hand side of my rib cage. I still have pain there after '7' days, and this is most painful when I try to sleep. My initial thought process of chiropractic care, and we all have heard this from parents and others, are that they are "quacks".
