Thato Review of Groot Constantia Wine Estate

One of the most popular estates in the Cape for tourists and locals alike.
The estate is huuuggee. For some reason I'd imagined it would be omunye phez' ko munye ~(chest to chest)~ with tourists but not really. The only place that gets just a little crowded is the tasting area, which is housed in one of the museums. Most people there aren't interested in the museum though; they're just there to be the guzzlers they are and chug down as much wine as possible. To each their own...
Being the stickler for history that I am, I drank and went for a stroll in the museum. I appreciated the historical frankness of the information at the museum and how they did not shy away from acknowledging that the place was built off the backs of slaves.
There are several restaurants and about 2 or 3 museums on the estate. So plenty to learn and number of options when it comes to wine and dining.
I can imagine how I would have loved my experience even more, had the company I was with not been a pain in the rear-end.
