I deeply, deeply love the University of Alabama. I have been afforded some incredible academic and social opportunities that I wouldn't trade for the world. Several of my professors have become close mentors and friends. For a large school, I never could've imagined such a personal experience, but that's exactly what the Honors College and the Mathematics Department have given me. My preparation in mathematics has strongly connected me with the community of applied mathematics at large, and very suitably prepared me for my continued education in math. Also, as a non-Greek/ GDI, I can attest that I've had an incredible social experience, and I have no idea why so many non-Greeks complain about the social scene. Tuscaloosa is a vibrant city; get out and explore it!
