I am a seasoned traveler and usually stay at four star hotels. This hotel is over priced. The snobbery here is worse that one receives in Paris or Monaco!

Wait staff is very nice in Bar, pool and Restaurant. Food also excellent albeit slow. (half empty restaurant for breakfast and we are told 30 minute wait. Waited 45 minutes for basic breakfast items after ordering) Had a wedding rehearsal dinner at 5.

Checked in at 1 but the room wasn't ready. No problem. Regular check in time is 3. Most staff at front desk were "nice" but had this quality that it was to their distain to help you. Room was not ready until 5pm! Not to say I was a wrinkled mess for the rehearsal dinner as I had less than 15 minutes to unpack and change and drive to the rehearsal dinner.

We had a suite. Rooms are nice but there is no space to put toiletries down in sink area and not a single hook in the bathroom to hang towels or clothes while bathing. Must have been designed by a man who doesn't think of those things. Beds are comfortable, but the last day I found caramel corn in my sheets.. I don't eat in bed let alone caramel corn!

The entire hotel has local art, but it's all done in every shade of teal that I felt like I was having a 1980's teal nightmare. Had to find out amenities from other guests, like a grab and go breakfast in the candyshop in the morning , coffee out by lobby until 9:30 am. They did have room service , but I couldn't find any guide to the hotel in my suite. Realized the in room coffee maker was broken and called to ask for another. Was never delivered.

This is the first time I have given a hotel of this "quality " a bad rating , but I suggest renting a condo in Destin, this hotel will not entice one to come back to the area.
