Ok, I hate to be a negative Nancy but there are pros and cons to this well known hotel on the island. It's not ALL that.

first the pros:
I was there for a week long course so I got a special deal per night at $399 compared to the $500-700 estimate in prime August season.

The pool was meticulously kept up and the servers and bar were well stocked and easy to access. Free towels and plenty of space to lay out. Yard games on the greenery in the back.

Two beautiful restaurants on location. Henry's and Water Street. You need reservations for Dinner and $$$$. Only went to Water Street for cocktails so no real impression.

Free Parking

Location, Location, Location across the street from the beautiful Lighthouse Beach in Edgartown, steps away from downtown eating and shopping and rocking chairs on the wrap around porch to view to the pristine scenery.

The Cons:
For $399 a night (a deal considering but still on the very high end) our room was clean but no over the top accessories or highlights. In fact our shower and sink clogged daily. Our pool view room had a couple of metal chairs I could have bought at Christmas Tree Shop but our view was semi-private due to the landscaping. Cool I like that, but it was loud. Too loud. Kids in the pool from 8am til dusk everyday. And landscapers started before that and being on the ground floor, we heard everything.

There was a mini-fridge but nothing in it.

TV was static - no premium channels.

Facilities for the course were big enough but they said power would be supplied at every table for computers - they weren't. And it was freezing. I needed a sweatshirt daily in August, which I didn't bring.

SO yes, it's beautiful and convenient, but there was nothing so special about this place that makes you feel like the price tag is worth it. But it was packed and goes to show people will pay what you set.
