The criteria for which students need to go to the We Welcome The World centres needs to be changed. My son was born in Canada, our family's first language is English and we are not from a Non English-Speaking country. Yet, just because we left the country for a year, my son had to go to one of these centres before returning to school. I found that ridiculous especially considering my young child spoke better English than the lady evaluating his English skills.
