This is an older hotel in downtown Monterey. Close enough to walk to the bay and warf. And even though it is currently being renovated, the staff does a great job minimizing the impact to guests. And the staff is superb! They are genuinely warm and helpful. They lose a star for lacking a concierge lounge.
