Beautiful place and lovely walk around the gardens but all Versailles communications policy is atrocious : the website advertises fully active fountains during summer but the reality is that there are only 3 fountains open during the day- the others are turned on only on Saturday nights. The garden maps are partly unreadable as they have inserted pictures onto the actual map. NEVER hire a golf buggy, those people are arrogant and the service is not acceptable. And don t get me started on the staff inside the palace, who are plain rude and treat the visitors like cattle to be yelled at. This ruined the day for us - but as the palace is extraordinary and they know they ll always have visitors, why bother making any kind of effort ? That s Parisian arrogance for you.
