Ok, to be clear, this is not a one-star hotel. But...

Ok, to be clear, this is not a one-star hotel. But given that it was a $450 room, the Waldorf merits a one-star review.

1. It took 25 minutes for the front desk to get me my room. I had a king bed reserved, and for my trouble they graciously "upgraded" me to a double bed. Spoiler alert: that is a downgrade.

2. The plumbing in my room did not work. When I turned on the shower or the sink, it splurted out water and turned off randomly, and I couldn't actually use either one.

3. The glasses were dirty. As in... used. They just put those paper covers on them and left them as is.

4. One of the lightbulbs in the bathroom was burned out, and there was a spare sitting on the sink. Not a big deal, but indicative of the hotel experience as a whole.

5. Oh yeah, and the lobby was full of escorts when I got there.

There are a half-dozen nicer hotels within a couple blocks of the Waldorf. Sure it has a great name, but this hotel came nowhere close to warranting the high price tag. Thuuuuuuumbs down.
