In the past 2 months my girlfriend has been admitted 4 times at the Erasmus hospital in Brussels, unfortunately she was sent there because they would be 'specialized' in placing a stent to allow a gastric band to grow in ..... dr Deviere had placed this and according to this 'specialist' the gastric band should have grown in after 1 week, so after 1 week she could come back, again under general anesthesia but unfortunately the gastric band had not grown and a larger stent was placed, this would according to the "specialist" after a good week and that could be removed, so after a good week back under general anesthesia, but unfortunately it was not sufficiently grown and another stent was placed .... we even had Dr. that day. Deviere not seen to come for explanation only his assistant came by, who said that after 3 weeks we had to come back and he should have grown, last Wednesday we were back, again under general anesthesia and they were able to remove a small part , the other part must be removed by our own doctor who placed the gastric band. what an ignorance! she could have saved 4 narcoses because in the end she still needs surgery. Pinnacle of all this was that we were not even Wednesday Dr. Have seen Deviere but his colleague did this and the assistant came to explain everything .... then not to mention the nurse who make no effort at all to understand Dutch / let alone try in English, ... .. they do not know what the patient is being admitted for, do not know what time an examination will take place ,. my girlfriend had to call 3-4 times to remove her drip when she was allowed to go home, she eventually did it herself, as a nurse she knows how to do this but this is not supposed to be .. .... not to mention the papers she lost in the hospital (ECG and blood test result) for which she wanted my girlfriend to be admitted for 2 days to do the tests again !! Of course we did not do this, luckily my girlfriend can have an ECG taken at work and she was able to request the blood test that she had lost at the hospital from the doctor. The doctor was also quite shocked that they had lost such documents. .. never experienced! Wednesday she wanted to keep her one more night for observation, but after being admitted to such situations four times she signed a paper that she went home for medical advice, we hope never to end up there again and our doctor who sent us to this 'specialist' will certainly get to hear this whole story, I hope he will not send any other patients here !!!
