Spent three hours between the Statue and Ellis Island and we , a family of 4 with 1 teen and 1 adult child, had a great time. As a national park, they keep the grounds beautifully. The museum was refreshing and informative. They do have American food, snacks , water at NYC prices. Felt safe in the boat which passes every 20 minutes. From purchasing tickets to entering the boat it took us exactly 40 minutes including safety check. We arrived at 11 am and by 11:40 am we were boarding. Takes about 10 minutes to get to the Lady of Liberty. Please, only use the national Park water transport called Statue Tours and not private vendors which pass as 'legit but will scam you badly!
