The natural habitats for the 2 black bears (Bety & Sassy) are enormous, as is the large acreage for the African elephants to roam. Even the coyotes have a great expansive abode with plenty of room to run around, and rock outcroppings to climb on.
The 3 white rhinos are absolutely enormous.
A must see is the red panda.
One of the funniest, most amusing sights are directly across from the bear habitats.
There is a chicken coop right next to the fox enclosure. There was a red fox literally guarding the henhouse! I laughed & laughed.
The fox looked at me sideways then went back to monitoring the chickens.
I look forward to seeing the new cheetah environment, and the Golden eagle aviary.
This is a small zoo of 122 acres, and has 800 animals representing many species. The food is remarkably good & surprisingly diverse, with Angus beef burgers, a black bean burger, hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, several salad options, sweet potato fries, and other kid-pleasing items. They also offer Dippin' Dots ice cream.
When buying a beverage spend the extra $1 or so to get a lidded souvenir cup. Drinks are a bit pricey at $3.49 (I think), while the souvenir cup is about $4.
Regular admission is $18, but 1/2 off on Tuesdays.
