CONS:

CONS:

Horrible location, there is nothing close to this hotel you must drive to go anywhere but the convention center next door.
Hotel needs to be updated
Elevators are slow, this could possibly because there was a sorority gathering there in which these young ladies liked to take the elevators up and down one floor to visit friends.
The rooftop pool is awful, the walls are so high that you can't even tell that you are on the roof. Why didn't they make the walls see-through?
Mattresses are old and need to be replaced.
Besides breakfast, the restaurant in the hotel is very expensive.
Service in the restaurant is slow

PROS:
Gym looks nice
There are washers and dryers with soap in the gym to do laundry
The breakfast buffet was very good.
GET THE CITY VIEW!

We arrived early to check and were told that our room wasn't ready but that we would be called when it was ready (this was at 10 a.m. I inquired about the Platinum benefits, so we could plan our meals). We were told that all of that would be explained when we actually checked in. We were not offered to go sit and wait in the concierge lounge (That was open until noon) or offered anything else which is normal for Marriott Platinum members.

By 3 pm, we still had not received a call that our room was ready, but we returned to the hotel anyway. When we got to the front desk, after waiting in line again, we were told that our room had been ready for a while. They confirmed my telephone number, which was correct. The person checking us in was Ashleigh. She was very nice and very apologetic for the manner in which we were treated upon arrival. She gave us some certificates to use at the restaurant and did all she could to make our experience better.

We made our way up to our room, it was a nice room with a decent view. My husband sat down on the bed and accidentally dropped his phone, when he reached down to retrieve his phone, he scratched his arm on something sticking out of the mattress. First of all, the sheets do not fit the beds, when he pulled the ripped mattress cover back, he found that a sharp spring was sticking out of the mattress. We called downstairs, Ashleigh came up and looked and moved us to room number 2702. It was just a few floors up from our original room. When we walked in the room, we noticed an awful smell, it was very musty and immediately, my husband's asthma kicked up. Once again, we went downstairs to talk to the manager, we waited in line again and spoke to the person at the front desk. They moved us to a suite, which was nice and had a much better view, which we were happy with.

I am used to Renaissance hotels being top of the line with service, location and decor, this Renaissance failed horribly.
