These HH (head hunter) companies are never useful ...

These HH (head hunter) companies are never useful when we needed them to fill out a position. It takes months to get a candidate and once we get them, they barely fit for the job, we were never happy to use them in general. I can tell you they are: 1. Good at selling their "Service" to the head office, except the head office never see the real garbage results due to their "service", 2. leech off the new hire once the application is accepted by the employer.

I was fortunate enough to explore both side of their work in the past few years. so let me lay this out for anyone that is looking to use them to hire, or anyone that is trying to get a job through them.

If you are the employer:

By using their service. You just added one extra layer of BS to your possible applicants, especially if you are using these services completely offline/private, you have lost a great chance of getting a great employee who is actively looking online with the right job experience. Anyone with a common sense knows these HH never have a good position to feel, unless the applicant is desperately in need of a job, they wouldn't even bother to look at the job description once the listing is posted by a HH.

It is not hard to post a job online these days, go to indeed.ca or wowjobs. you see tons of employers posting under their own name. This will automatically filter out the workers who are not looking to work for your company once they see your name associated with the job. transparency will help you in the long run especially we are living in a internet generation, and who in the world these days can't access/use internet? If they have to use a HH to find them a job, something tells me they are not very good a looking after their own future.

Did I also mention we typically overpay the new hires because we had to use a HH? For a job that's around $80k, we typically pay total over $100k to the HH once the applicant is hired. Who in the right mind would do that financially? Well, you can argue you don't have the resource in your HR to go through all the applicants, then you already have a problem within your own company. Perhaps you shouldn't even have a HR department? Perhaps you as the employer need to spend more time listening to your employees instead of constantly looking for new employees.

If you are looking to get a job through HH:

Truth is all the good jobs are already taken within the offices before we start looking else where like hiring a HH. These jobs were either hard to fill, not enough pay for the stress, or they are just basically low pay jobs. If you are searching for a job with any common sense, look for the ones who is not using a HH. This will give you the chance to identify if that's the right company you want to work for. As I mentioned in the earlier paragraph, everything can be easily searched through internet these days. Don't fall into the trap by using this useless layer when you need to find the right job, but if you simply don't care or just need a job to survive, go ahead and use them, do expect to be treated like crap since they know you need them to find yourself a job.

As for this particular office in the Southside. They are no difference than any other HH, typical sales people working in a HH environment, sometimes I think a car sales guy is actually better behave than these folks. All they do is typing up your resume with little more details, then they try to match you up when they are "free". Front reception girl Sam seems like a smart one, she does quite a bit of the lag work. The ones works in the back offices like are pretty useless, they will typically make you wait for your interviews (up to 15mins), not sure why since you can hear them chatting for useless crap. There is always that face "I don't give a f" when you are talking to them, but that's certainly not the case when they are talking to the employer/hiring company. Also, don't bother to expect them know your resume prior to your interview, they simply just read it during your worthless "interview".
