Please remember its first love Jesus Christ ...
I desired to go to a bigger congregation. So I went in to the biggest Alliance church in Markham as a stranger, a seeker of my soul. I went into the basement through the side entrance for I really did not know my way. I saw that people were busy so I interrupted and asked for my way to the sanctuary. People replied but with no smile. The ushers were busy talking to their friends as I was asking for the bulletin. Not until I was in the service, I realized that this church was in the process of looking for a senior pastor. I didn t understand why the sermon talked about the unprivileged people and the bulletin communicated about an upcoming conference for the unprivileged, yet no one in the stage encouraged the congregation to participate. At the end, I walked out quickly without talking to anyone, just like many others did. Hope that this church remembers from Revelation: the Letter to Laodicea Church and the Letter to Ephesus Church. I pledge to re-visit this church again in a year to provide with an update. Blessing. (2013)
UPDATE 2014: It has been more than a year since I last visited this church. I love Alliance Churches. In fact, both of my parents baptized in an Alliance church so I went back on the Mother s Day Sunday. I discovered that a senior pastor was still yet to be inducted. The interim speaker from the Alliance Assembly was a very experienced bible scholar. He was very passionate about the teaching and shared much of his missionary experience with the congregation. He prayed for all the women in the congregation in celebrating Mother s Day. I am glad that I receive much from the sermon. However, I don t know what it was, just like my last experience, I walked out from the church without talking to anyone. No one knows that I was there worshiping. If newcomers experience what I see, they will not stay. I am worry for His church, Father
