It's HUGE. I've been here thrice. It's best if you make a clear plan before you visit an expo and know in advance which halls or areas you wish to visit first. Just waking through each and every hall trying to cover the complete expo can make you very tired. Most of the open areas look similar and there are multiple outlets of f&b chains (like caffe Nero) which can make it more confusing.
Free shuttle buses are available to places like Dubai Mall and popular hotels in the area.
Metro station is within walking distance.
There are plenty of options to eat but they can get very busy depending on the type of expo you visit.
