I used to go to Five Dock RSL regularly. I'm still undecided about the new layout. While the bar looks good etc, the beer is awful, lots of choices but the Tooheys New, Peroni and Carlton Draught were all terrible when I was there last Sunday. The beer was flat and warm......
The food is ok, I'm glad that the club have ditched the attempts to try be a 5 star restaurant and gone back to what it was good at.
I feel the new club lacks the character of the place before the renovations, I used to enjoy going to the old place but the new layout lacks soul and whoever decided to put the kids play area outside in the alfresco dining area needs a lobotomy. Its awful. If its not broke, don't fix it. It wasn't broke....
I don't enjoy going to my local club as much as I used too. The Tigers club and the Sydney Rowers will be getting more of my business I think.
