Huge fields and great strawberries. (I'd have given it 5 stars, except the fields are located right next to the freeway, not in some bucolic location). The grandkids loved it. Yes, it's $20 for a large bucket with admission for 2 adults. You're in Carlsbad; if you can't afford it, don't come, but don't give the place 1 star and ruin it for everyone else who're relying upon your review to make their own decision. Kids 5 and under are admitted free and the attendant looked at our 4 grandkids aged 1 to 7 and said, without us asking, "they're fine, no ticket required". Of course, you can't count on that, and it could be an extra $5 for another admission for an older child or $10 with their own small bucket. Eat some strawberries in the field and you're sure to get your money's worth. That's what all kids do anyhow, and I'm sure that the owners are pricing that into their admission strategy.
